This 1968 Jaguar XKE Series 1.5 4.2 Coupe combines many of the model's most desirable early production traits with the increased drivability of the legendary 4.2-liter platform. Finished in red over black leather upholstery, a torque-rich inline-six engine fed by dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors sits beneath the flowing hood. Four-speed manual shifting, independent front and rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, dual exhaust, and chrome 15” knock-off wire wheels offer this XKE as a refined vintage grand tourer with well-earned collector credentials. Additional appointments include air conditioning, a wood-rimmed steering wheel and shift knob, Smiths instruments, and a dashboard clock, while discreet upgrades such as an AM/FM/CD stereo with Kenwood speakers and Wilwood front disc brakes enhance usability.
Showing just over 76k miles on its odometer at the time of cataloging, this XKE was refurbished to a high standard under previous ownership. The quality of the work is evident throughout, from the remarkably clean engine compartment and undercarriage to the cabin—reflecting careful stewardship and attention to detail. In preparation for sale, this Coupe received comprehensive recent service including new Vredestein Sprint Classic tires and tubes, along with new brake calipers and pads.
Two sets of keys, factory literature, a service manual, records binder from previous ownership, and a knock-off wheel mallet/jig accompany the sale. Beautifully presented, thoughtfully upgraded, and benefiting from documented maintenance, this Series 1.5 Coupe represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire one of Jaguar's most iconic sporting automobiles—ready for display and vintage touring events, or spirited summer drives.
The title for this vehicle is currently in transit and is expected to arrive within approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
