The car you see here left the factory in November 1967, and no owners are recorded before 1975. In 1979, it was acquired by a gentleman in North Yorkshire, in whose care it has remained until today. Based in the stunning scenery of Saltburn-By-The-Sea, the owners have taken extraordinary care to ensure that this E-Type is kept in the best possible condition. It is permanently dry-stored – in fact, the only time the car has seen rain in the last 46 years was when the owner had just left his house. Only a few miles down the road, the heavens began to open, whereupon he immediately turned back and returned the E-Type to its garage. In addition to this, the car has only been driven for 30 miles in the past three years!
The car was comprehensively restored in the early 1990s – for which there is extensive documentation – by Jaguar specialist Malcolm Buckeridge, and was then looked after by White Rose Classics, another marque specialist. Since the 1990s, the only enhancement of note is a new steel fuel tank. If none of that sways you, then perhaps the original toolkit – also included - might.
