This 1966 Jaguar XKE Series I 2+2 coupe is believed to have remained with two owners in Cleveland, Ohio, from new and remained parked as a project car for the last two decades. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2026, it is described as a non-running project that requires a full restoration. Finished in silver over black leather upholstery, the car retains a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It is fitted with a fiberglass clamshell hood and rolls on 15″ wire-spoke wheels. Further equipment includes disc brakes and enclosed headlights along with a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an AM radio, and a heater. This XKE Series I 2+2 coupe project is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Pennsylvania title listing the car as a 1967 example.
Compared to the contemporary coupe, the 2+2 version of the XKE featured a lengthened wheelbase and increased roof height to accommodate a pair of rear seats. This example is finished in worn silver paint and has enclosed headlights, bullet-style mirrors, and a side-hinged rear hatch along with wraparound bumpers with tubular guards and dual exhaust outlets. The selling dealer notes that the louvered clamshell hood is a reproduction fiberglass unit that was installed in the mid-1970s following a collision. They also report rust on the body and other exterior components.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with older 205/75 Dunlop tires. The car has an independent suspension along with four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The rear brakes drag.
The 2+2 cabin features retains seats upholstered in black leather along with color-coordinated dash, center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include an AM radio, a heater, and hand-crank windows. The seat upholstery is torn, sections of the carpet are missing, and additional interior wear can be viewed up-close in the gallery.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 54k miles.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is fitted with triple SU carburetors that wear Bap Geon air cleaners. The engine does not run and is believed to have been last started approximately 10 years ago. The selling dealer notes that it does not turn over even with a battery. Rust can be seen on components in the engine bay.
The full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission is linked with a limited-slip differential. Rust is visible on various underside components.
The chassis plate is missing.
