This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster is a non-running project that was acquired by the seller two years ago. It has been refinished in white and is equipped with a 4.2-liter inline-six, a four-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ wire wheels. This XKE roadster is now offered at no reserve with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, removed and spare parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car came finished from the factory in Pale Primrose and was repainted white some time ago. Dents, rust, and other areas of damage can be seen around the body.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by earless knock-offs and are mounted with older tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features bucket seats that are torn and damaged. There is rust in the floors.
The steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline. The five-digit odometer shows 85k miles.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine is not running, though the seller tells us that it turns over by hand.
The engine is linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
