Auction description:

2026 Scottsdale January 17-25, 2026

Exterior Color Black

Interior Color Black

VIN 1R26057

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II fixed-head coupe is powered by its matching-numbers 4.2-liter inline-6 engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The vehicle received a documented nut-and-bolt professional restoration completed in October 2025. The mechanical restoration included a rebuilt engine and ancillaries, clutch and flywheel, rebuilt independent rear suspension assembly, upgraded disc brakes, new wiring harnesses, three-carburetor fuel system, front suspension, aluminum radiator, Pertronix ignition and a stainless-steel exhaust system. This XKE rides on chrome wire wheels with Vredestein tires and is finished in black with a black leather interior. The factory air conditioning has been upgraded to a modern aftermarket system for improved efficiency. The vehicle has a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio with cable input. The cosmetic restoration included a complete body restoration, with refinished chrome and trim, new body rubber and glass. The interior received a full retrim with new leather seats, panel and carpet kits, headliner and trim kit, as well as added sound insulation. Verified by the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, this Jaguar is confirmed to retain its factory-original engine, transmission, chassis and body, a testament to its authenticity and preservation. Included with the vehicle are a lifting jack with bag, tool kit, knock-off hammer, original manuals and literature, Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust (JDHT) certificate, restoration receipts and a photo documentation file.

Sold Price: $167,200

Photos 2025-11-25 show the throttle levers are set too low on the throttle spindles. That means the rear lever on the throttle slave shaft will be fouling on top of the frame at full throttle.

I've had that experience, throttle would not return from full throttle in a left hand turn. My trouble wasn't the levers but tired motor mounts which allowed the engine to sit lower and tilt more than it was designed to do.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
