After almost 20 years decided to re do the paint. Painted it same color as my '06 XK8 Platinum Silver. Removed the front Amco Bars and the awful after market wing mirrors. Car looks much cleaner now.

This Jaguar XKE Series II coupe was built on January 27, 1970 and spent time in California before being acquired by the seller in 1992. The car has been refinished in Platinum Silver over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes triple SU carburetors, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a CD stereo, and a Moto-Lita steering wheel. This XKE coupe is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, a seller-provided brief history of the car, service records, removed factory parts, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
The car came finished from the factory in silver and was repainted in a later Jaguar shade of Platinum Silver in 2015 by Kalbs Auto Body of Cincinnati, Ohio following repairs of the quarter panels, doors, cowl, and hood. Various seals were replaced at that time, while the windshield was replaced in 2004. The seller notes a paint chip on the driver’s door and rear hatch, and the windshield washers are inoperative.
The 15″ steel wheels wear hubcaps and were mounted with 205/70 Pirelli P4000 Super Touring tires in 2007. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The front suspension was rebuilt in 2006, and the seller notes that the left front lower suspension bushings are worn. Spaxx adjustable rear shocks have been added.
The bucket seats were fitted with replacement foam padding and reupholstered in black leather in 2001, and the center armrest was re-trimmed at that time. Interior appointments include a CD stereo, a locking glovebox, and three-point seatbelts.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation fitted with LED bulbs, including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 83k miles, approximately 31k of which were added under current ownership. The clock does not work.
The 4.2-liter inline-six has been fitted with triple SU carburetors and was rebuilt in 1994. The emissions equipment and the heater core have been removed, while a spin-on oil filter adapter, ceramic-coated exhaust manifolds, and a gear reduction starter have been installed. The cam cover gaskets and rear oil manifold seals were replaced in October 2025, and a replacement starter relay was installed in 2026. There is an oil leak from the rear of the engine. A brief history document provided by the seller is viewable in the gallery in addition to maintenance and fuel consumption spreadsheets.
Engine stamping 7R10659-9 a corresponding number is listed on the Heritage Trust certificate.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A Falcon stainless-steel exhaust system was installed in 1993, and the rear axle was rebuilt with 3.07:1 gearing in 1998.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates. The removed factory components accompanying the car are shown in the gallery and include Stromberg carburetors, air boxes, exhaust manifolds, emissions equipment, the distributor, starter, canister oil filter, and a chrome front Amco bumper bar.
