Ebay item 9/17/04 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $2,938.00 (Reserve not met), 3 bids, 6 days left in auction. Manual trans, 34k miles.
Sellers description:
Up for auction is my 1969 Jaguar 2+2 XKE. I am the 2nd owner since 2002. The original owner bought this vehicle new in 1969 from the Chicago Jaguar dealer. Let me start by saying the car was repainted approx 20 years ago to its current color of gunmetal grey. The original color was red. The current condition of the paint is near perfect...it could pass for its original paint from the factory...look at the pics. Secondly, I believe the rest of the car is in its original condition. The car has black leather seats, wire wheels, orig tool bag, orig miles with no rebuilt or redone engine, a/c compressor and fan runs...but not sure on how cold. I am selling the vehicle because it just does not get much use and a vintage vehicle like this should be taken out weekly. So, if you are a jaguar fan this is a fantastic model that not only looks beautiful but drives well.

Construction year 1969
KM 39277 miles
Cilinder displacement 4235
Gears manual
Steering left hand drive
VIN 1R40494

This highly optioned matching-numbers Jaguar E-Type 4.2 S2 3C Manual was delivered new in the USA and therefore features a short final drive, allowing brisk acceleration to legal cruising speeds. It comes in the classic Opalescent Silver Grey with black leather, entirely original on the seats, door panels and even the boot – made notably practical thanks to its three-door layout.
Equipment includes chrome wire wheels, original mirrors, excellent panel alignment (Spaltmaßen), a wooden sports steering wheel, twin sports exhaust, modern radio in classic style, air conditioning and two seatbelts.
The 4.2-litre straight-six – identified by its black cam cover and considered the most reliable and maintenance-friendly E-Type engine – is fitted with an extremely expensive brand-new set of Weber 45 DCOE carburettors and an aluminium radiator. The Italian-designed Weber 45 DCOE is famed for its high airflow, immediate throttle response and mechanical purity, used on numerous sports cars including Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Lotus, BMW and Ford race engines.
The body is straight and solid, and although the paint is older, it remains perfectly usable as-is or can serve as a solid base for future concours restoration.
