This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 was sold new at Monte Shelton Motors in Portland, Oregon, and was acquired by the owner’s family in 1979. It has since participated in regional events including the All British Field Meet and the Oregon Gumball Rallye. It is finished in silver over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a vintage-look stereo with Bluetooth, and air conditioning. The car is now offered on dealer consignment with an owner’s manual, service records, car show awards, spare parts, and a clean Oregon title.
The car was repainted in its current shade of silver in 1982. Exterior equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, sealed-beam open headlights, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, and dual exhaust outlets. The right-front turn signal lens was replaced in 2018. Event decals from the 1980s are affixed to the under-hood cowl.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are secured by safety nuts and were mounted with 185-section Pirelli Cinturato tires in 2022. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The brake lines were replaced in 2015, and the brake reservoir cap was replaced in 2025. The wheels were rotated and balanced in 2026.
The 2+2 cabin is upholstered in black leather with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include a locking glovebox, three-point seatbelts, and air conditioning. The air conditioning compressor was replaced and the system was converted to use R134a refrigerant in 2018, and the system was recharged in 2023. A Bluetooth-capable vintage-look stereo and short-depth speakers were installed in 2018.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The speedometer was repaired in 2017, and the analog clock was converted to a quartz movement in 2018. The five-digit odometer shows 44k miles, approximately 27k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The carburetors were rebuilt and a stainless-steel exhaust system was installed in 2015. Additional service that year included rebuilding the water pump and replacing the thermostat. The exhaust manifolds were coated in 2017. The cylinder head was retorqued and the oil filter canister seal was replaced in 2025. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale.
The engine block stamping 7R36257-9 matches the number on the chassis tag.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
