1969 XKE 2+2 project car, I bought this car a few years ago from California hoping to restore it, it is rust free I don't have the time or expertise, it ran a few years ago, this year when I tried to start it the fuel pump wasn't working, engine turns freely I ordered a new fuel pump and will include it. This car needs a exhaust system, the suspension gone over, Brakes, steering etc, I was told the right side sub frame needs to be replaced. The interior front seats look ok the back seat needs to be redone. Paint is starting to crack in a few spots, The car will need to be towed. Car is located in Oakland New Jersey.

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 was acquired by the seller as a non-running project in 2020 and was subsequently refurbished, including a repaint in Macadamia Brown Metallic to match their Porsche 911. Additional modifications include a Kool Kat aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, Classic Air air conditioning, GAZ adjustable shocks, and LED lighting. The 4.2-liter inline-six was rebuilt, and a high-torque starter and Pertronix electronic ignition were added. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel, and an Alpine stereo. This XKE 2+2 is now offered at no reserve with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, the owner’s manual, records from the work, spare parts, a car cover, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Sable, the car was repainted in the Porsche shade of Macadamia Brown Metallic under current ownership. LED lighting was installed and brightwork was re-chromed at that time, and the seller tells us that the headlights were modified to shut off after the car has been turned off for three minutes. A dent on the underside of the front of the hood is shown.

The 15″ Dayton wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Michelin Defender tires. GAZ adjustable shocks were installed during the refurbishment, and the brakes were also overhauled, including rebuilds of the calipers and replacement of the master cylinder, booster, rotors, and pads. A remote IRS brake bleeder was added.

The cabin was reupholstered in brown leather, and the rear seats were deleted during the refurbishment. Three-point front seatbelts and a custom center cupholder were added in addition to a Classic Air air conditioning system, a replacement heater box, Coco floor mats, and an Alpine stereo.

The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer was reset to zero at the time of the refurbishment and now shows 3k miles.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine was rebuilt and bored .030″ over during the refurbishment, and the carburetors were also overhauled. A spin-on oil filter, Pertronix electronic ignition, and a high-torque starter were added, and cooling is via a Kool Kat aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.

Engine stamping 7R37531-9 is corresponding to the number is listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing were replaced during the refurbishment, and the differential was refreshed. The differential was fitted with 3.04:1 gearing per the seller, who notes a leak from the speedometer cable feed at the rear of the transmission.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors, serial numbers, and build date of May 5, 1969.
