1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 4.2 Roadster
13,961 Miles (Indicated)
LHD manual
Spain Marbella, Spain
Engine Size 4.2L Inline-Six
VIN 1R7935
Exterior Aubergine
Interior Tan
This Jaguar E-Type Series 2 4.2 Roadster is an elegant and desirable classic open-top sports car, which is reported to benefit from a previous restoration.
It is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre inline-six driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
This example was manufactured on 9 December 1968, exported to North America in 1969, later re-imported to Belgium, and has been registered on Spanish Historic plates since 2003.
It reportedly benefits from an extensive refurbishment carried out by Autostorica Barcelona, including a rebuild of the engine, gearbox, suspension and braking system, together with a full repaint and interior refurbishment.
The odometer indicates 13,961 miles, though this is not warranted.
Equipment and features
This E-Type Series 2 4.2 Roadster is now finished in the sophisticated shade of Aubergine with a dark blue soft-top roof, over a tan leather-trimmed interior, featuring a contrasting black dashboard and chrome trim highlights.
It rides on a set of 15-inch chromed cross-spoke wire wheels with two-spoke knock-offs, fitted with BFGoodrich Urban Terrain T/A tyres.
Equipment includes a wood-rimmed steering wheel, Smiths gauges, dashboard rocker switches, and heater and ventilation controls.
This example has been fitted with an aftermarket retro-style stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, and Sony speakers.
Accompanying the car are its Jaguar Heritage Production Record Trace Certificate, Certificate of Conformity, registration documentation, and two ignition keys.
Condition
Specific notes from the seller include: the body was repainted in Aubergine during the refurbishment. There is a small scratch on the upper bonnet, and the interior displays even wear consistent with careful use since restoration.
The most recent roadworthiness inspection was reportedly completed on 5 August 2022 with no advisories reported.
