This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster that underwent what is reported to have been a $146k refurbishment performed by Benhase Restorations of Cincinnati, Ohio, between 2016 and 2018. The car is finished in British Racing Green over tan leather, and power comes from a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes an aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fans as well as disc brakes with inboard rear units, 15″ chrome wire wheels, a tan soft top, a chrome grille guard and luggage rack, a 15″ wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Panasonic cassette stereo. This XKE roadster was purchased by the seller’s late father-in-law in 2025, and it is now offered by the seller on behalf of his mother-in-law with refurbishment records, a 16″ leather-wrapped steering wheel, a jack, and a clean Ohio title in the owner’s name.
Series II cars featured uncovered headlights as well as taillights tucked below a one-piece, wrap-around rear bumper. This example is finished in British Racing Green and features a chrome grille guard, a louvered clamshell hood, door-mounted side mirrors, a passenger door wind wing, a tan soft top, a luggage rack, and dual exhaust outlets. There is a chip in the lower-left corner of the windshield, and a paint crack on the right-front cowl.
The 15″ chrome wire wheels are secured by octagonal safety nuts, and they are mounted with 195-series Michelin radial whitewall tires. The car rides on an independent suspension and features four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features bucket seats with headrests trimmed in tan leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include a Panasonic cassette stereo, a heater, a locking glovebox, black Jaguar-branded floor mats, and lap belts. A plaque from the 1978 Austin-Healey Club of America Spring Roundup of British Cars is affixed to the glovebox door.
The 15″ wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, 800 of which were added under the seller’s ownership. A 16″ leather-wrapped steering wheel is included in the sale, and an image of it can be seen in the gallery.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, and an aluminum radiator is paired with twin electric cooling fans.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
A collection of refurbishment records that reportedly total $146k accompany the sale.
The car’s data plate lists its serial number as 1R8754 though the Ohio title replaces the 1 with the letter I.
