Lot #214765
This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was acquired by the current owner in 1979. A refurbishment was commenced in the early 2000s but was never finished, and the car is said to have been placed in dry storage about 20 years ago. A replacement convertible top and black leather upholstery have been sourced, and other equipment includes a 4.2-liter inline-six, a four-speed manual transmission, and a limited-slip differential as well as a hardtop, wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, dual Stromberg carburetors, and an AM/FM radio. The selling dealer notes that all of the car’s systems require refurbishment work. This non-running XKE project is now offered in Oregon on dealer consignment at no reserve with removed and spare parts plus a clean Wisconsin title in the owner’s name.
Portions of the body have been finished in primer. The bumpers, trim, lamps, and other components have been removed. The seller notes multiple areas of rust but states that there is no rust-through.
A collection of parts that will accompany the vehicle is pictured in the gallery below. Some of the items included in the lot are:
Sheetmetal
Brightwork and trim
Bumpers
Lamps
Fiberglass hardtop
Replacement convertible top
Replacement black leather upholstery
Replacement exhaust system
Window and door seals
Jaguar-branded radio
Smiths gauges
Starter
Spare radiator w/dual fans
Nuts and bolts
Braking components
Wire-spoke 15″ wheels are secured by rounded knock-offs and are mounted with aged Dunlop tires. The car is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin has been stripped of its seats, center console, carpeting, radio, and other parts.
The steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as a clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 61k miles, approximately 30k of which were added under current ownership between 1979 and the early 2000s.
The 4.2-liter inline-six remains in the car, and the seller tells us that it turns over.
The car is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
