This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was refurbished in the early 2000s and was purchased by the owner in 2005. It is finished in Willow Green over Suede Green leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a black convertible top, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, GAZ rear shocks, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an Alpine CD stereo, and a heater. This XKE roadster is now offered on behalf of the owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, the owner’s manual, service records, a car cover, a prior JCNA judging sheet, car show awards, and a Ontario registration describing it as a 1970 model.

The car is finished in Willow Green and was repainted approximately 25 years ago. Exterior equipment includes a black convertible top, dual side mirrors, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets with Jaguar-stamped rear mufflers. Paintless dent repair was performed on an area of the hood, which the seller notes is wavy when viewed up close. Additional blemishes include a dent in the passenger front fender, damage to the rubber sill seal of the driver’s door, and a touched-up chip on the right quarter panel. Bubbling and a cracked area of filler are visible at the lower seam of the right quarter panel and rocker panel. The convertible top headliner is loose.

The 15″ wire wheels feature two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 205/70 Pirelli P4000 Super Touring tires showing date codes from 2008. A spare 15″ wire wheel mounted with a Michelin XA4 tire is stowed in the trunk. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. GAZ rear shocks are installed. The brake pads, tie rod ends, and ball joints were replaced in 2007.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in Suede Green leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include an Alpine CD stereo, a locking glovebox, and a heater. The trim panels in the driver’s footwell are worn, though replacements are included in the sale. Rust is noted in the driver’s floor.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,000-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and shows 50k miles, approximately 25k of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. Service in 2007 included installing an aluminum fuel tank and replacing the exhaust system. Service in 2025 included adjusting the drive belts, engine timing, and carburetors, as well as replacing the spark plugs, points, and condenser.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The car has received numerous accolades under current ownership, including 1st in the Driven Class at the 2006 Ontario Jaguar Owners Association Concours d’Elegance, Best of Show at the 2016 Ontario Auto Museum OAM Auto Show, and First in the Guest Club class at the 2016 Ferrari Club of America Canada East Region Concours. Additional awards from British Car Day, Brits on the Lake, and the Victoria British Car Club are included.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
