Lot #203395

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was sold new by Whittlesey Motors of Torrance, California, in October 1969, and it is said to have been under the care of a single family from 1972 through 2024, when the seller purchased the vehicle. Powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, the car is finished in Pale Primrose with a black soft top over black leather upholstery. Equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, a louvered clamshell hood, a luggage rack, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a retro-style digital radio, and a black top boot. This XKE roadster is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, recent service records, unused interior components and replacement roof canvas from Lakewell, and a Texas title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Pale Primrose, and exterior equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, a driver-side mirror, a rear luggage rack, bright trim, wraparound chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets. Tan canvas material to retrim the soft top is included in the sale.

Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured by knock-off hubs and are mounted with American Silver Premium Edition tires measuring 205/70. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The seller states that the brake master cylinder has been replaced.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpeting. Interior appointments include a Europa-branded retro-style digital radio as well as three-point seatbelts, a locking glovebox, a heater, and black floor mats. The coverings for the headrests and the center console have been replaced under current ownership with parts sourced from Lakewell, as have the carpeting and the top boot. The horn does not work. Wear to the seating surfaces is visible.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 34k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. A PerTronix ignition coil has been installed.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

Unused interior and top components purchased in 2024 from Lakewell of Veulen, Belgium, will accompany the vehicle.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the original colors and component numbers along with manufacture and dispatch dates.

The car is titled using VIN J691R9879, which prepends the car number “J69.”

The Texas title carries a “VIN Certification Waived” notation in the remarks section.

Lot #247434

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was sold new by Whittlesey Motors of Torrance, California, in October 1969, and is said to have been under the care of a single family from 1972 through 2024 before being acquired by the seller on BaT in August 2025. Subsequent work has involved fitting a Lakewell black soft top, black leather seat covers, and a stainless-steel exhaust system as well as changing the tires and performing various mechanical updates detailed below. Finished in Pale Primrose, the car is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It also has 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, and dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors along with a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a retro-style digital radio, and a luggage rack. This XKE roadster is now offered in Rhode Island with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, partial service records, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The car is finished in Pale Primrose and features a louvered clamshell hood, a luggage rack, and wraparound chrome bumpers. It was fitted with a new black soft top in August 2025 and underwent paint correction in October 2025.

Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured by knock-off hubs and are coupled with four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rotors out back. Vredestein tires were mounted under current ownership, and additional work is noted to have involved replacing the ball joints and steering rack gaiters as well as the brake servo and hoses.

The bucket seats were fitted with replacement seat padding and leather covers in August 2025, while the coverings for the center console and headrests were changed with units from Lakewell under previous ownership. Further appointments include a Europa-branded retro-style digital radio as well as a heater, a locking glovebox, three-point seatbelts, and black rubberized floor mats.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel has a working horn and fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 34k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. A PerTronix ignition coil was installed under previous ownership, and work since August 2025 has involved replacing the engine mounts, changing various fluid reservoirs, flushing the fuel tank, and performing a tune-up.

The four-speed manual transmission is linked with a limited-slip differential. A stainless-steel exhaust system was installed in October 2025.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors and component numbers along with manufacture and dispatch dates.

Chassis number 1R9879 is shown above and is listed as the VIN on the current Montana title prepended by the prefix “J69.”
