A rare and highly desirable classic British sports car, this is one of only 56 Australian-delivered Jaguar E-Type Series 3 Roadsters.
Powered by a 5.3-litre V12 engine, driving the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.
First registered in 1972, this E-Type was delivered new in Australia.
The seller states that this vehicle was delivered new by Larke Hoskins, Bondi Junction, and sold to its first owner Mr Whitehead, who in 1974 sold the car to businessman Keith Williams (founder of Sea World Gold Coast and Hamilton Island). In 1991, Keith Williams then sold to the vehicle to its current owner, and later provided a declaration that the very low mileage was genuine.
Since 1991, the vehicle has reportedly been regularly started and maintained, but has not travelled more than 250 miles in that time.
The odometer shows 9,735 miles, which the seller believes is the genuine total given the signed declaration on file.
Equipment and features
Finished in elegant Old English White over a Black leather-trimmed interior.
It rides on 72-spoke chrome wire wheels.
Equipment includes air conditioning, a black factory soft top, a black factory removable hard top, and the original AM/FM radio.
Accompanied by tools, logbooks, the original hard top, records, and two keys.
Service history
The seller states that the last comprehensive service was in November 2015 at 9,677 miles. This included an extensive mechanical overhaul, and since then they state that it has been regularly maintained by an in-house mechanic with oil changes and regular starts and seal replacement.
The tyres were replaced in 2024, and the carburettors were reconditioned in 2024.
