Car offered at:
www.classicdriver.com/en/car/jaguar/e-type-siii/1973/989267

Seller's description:
1973 Jaguar E-Type SIII V12 Roadster
Price USD 164 220
Chassis number UD1S22837

Restored by our Engineer friend and she has only covered 4.500 miles since the works were completed

The recipient of many Concours events in her native Scotland and with a raft of photo's of the fullest of restorations you could imagine

She comes with both small and large tools (all in correct bags and in new condition), an original owners manual in the correct Jaguar plastic wallet, 4 speed manual gearbox, chrome wire wheels, drivers & passengers door mirrors, rubber Jaguar over mats and both hood bag & soft top are made from mohair

As a '73 model she has the correct twin exhaust tailpipes (fish tail type as from the factory) and emits a smooth growl as she ticks over from her 5.3 litre V12 engine

So quiet is the engine on the move you sometimes think she has died until you either look at the rev counter or blip the throttle

All gauges read correctly and at tick-over the oil pressure (when hot) read just under 80psi (Jaguar recommend at 2.000rpm you should have 40psi) so you can see this unit is very strong indeed

Acceleration when taking her for photography underlines this for with just prod of the pedal she leaps forward with gusto

We have just had her MoT's and no advisories were noted (not that we were expecting any) and she is ready for Continental journey's, static display or even some more Concours event

• Complete restoration

• 4, 500 miles since completion

• Concours winner

• Outstanding condition

This gorgeous V12 E-type has covered a mere 4, 500 miles since restoration. Recipient of numerous concours awards in its native Scotland. A desirable manual transmission example, the car comes with both small and large tools (all in correct bags and in new condition) and an original owner's manual in the correct Jaguar plastic wallet. A 1973 model, 'JAG 139L' has the correct twin exhaust tailpipes (fishtail type as from the factory), while other notable features include chrome wire wheels; driver's and passenger's door mirrors; Jaguar rubber over-mats; and soft-top and hood bag in mohair. It is reported that the engine is notably quiet when idling; all gauges read correctly and at tickover the oil pressure (when hot) is just under 80psi. Jaguar recommend 40psi at 2, 000rpm so this unit would appear to be very strong indeed. Unquestionably one of the best V12 E-Types currently available, 'JAG 139L' is ready for Continental journeys, static display, or even some more concours events. It should be noted the V5C document has been misplaced and been reapplied for.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
