This 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 is said to have been delivered new to its first owner in Great Yarmouth on the East Coast of England. Chassis 1S51819BW later spent time in France before being acquired by the selling dealer in 2019 and sold to a customer in Belgium. The car underwent paintwork and mechanical service by Henri’s Classics of Diksmuide, Belgium, that year and was later reacquired by the selling dealer in 2025. Finished in Signal Red, the right-hand-drive coupe is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors that is linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. It rides on 15” knock-off wire wheels and is further equipped with power steering as well as four-wheel disc brakes. Inside, black leather–trimmed seats are accompanied by Smiths instrumentation and a Ford-branded AM/FM cassette stereo. This Series III E-Type is now offered by the selling dealer in Belgium with an owner’s manual, a service booklet, records and photos from the 2019 work, and Belgian registration.
The body is finished in Signal Red and underwent a wet sanding and polish in December 2019 as part of the aforementioned work performed by Henri’s Classics. The car features a forward-hinged louvered hood, uncovered headlights, door-mounted mirrors, and wraparound bumpers.
The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering as well as four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors. This example rides on 15″ wire-spoke wheels secured with knock-off spinners that are mounted with 205/70 Dunlop SP Sport radial tires. The tires were fitted and the brakes were serviced in 2019.
The right-hand-drive cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black leather as well as a color-coordinated dash, center console, and door panels. Interior amenities include a Ford-branded AM/FM cassette stereo as well as a heater, a locking glovebox, and front shoulder belts.
The steering wheel features drilled spokes and frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles, approximately 10 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 241 net horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. The carburetors were inspected and cleaned in 2019.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The vehicle is being sold on its Belgian registration, which serves as an ownership document in Belgium. The car number shown –1S51819BW–is listed as the VIN with an extra “(01)” suffix at the end.
