According to the original service booklet, this Series 3 Coupé was delivered by Emil Frey in Zurich on April 11, 1973. The first owner sold the very well documented and inspected example to a collector and connoisseur of classic vehicles in Eastern Switzerland before it came into 3rd ownership in Ticino in 2013. Over the years, this beautiful coupé has been regularly maintained and serviced by Jaguar specialist workshops such as Emil Frey and Goodtimer.
Bodywork and paintwork:
The paintwork is very beautiful and in excellent condition. The body is undamaged and the seals have all been replaced.
Interior:
The interior, which shows evidence of professional care, is immaculate and shows only minor signs of wear even 10 years after restoration. The headlining is as good as new, as are all the panels and the variable trunk lining.
Engine and mechanics:
The engine has excellent performance and emission values. Corresponding protocols are available. On delivery to the buyer, a comprehensive inspection will be carried out, the carburettors synchronized and the vehicle will be freshly MFK (MOT)-checked.
Chassis:
The chassis with wearing parts such as shock absorbers, bearing rubbers and brake hoses were renewed, the power steering revised and the brake hydraulics overhauled.
Driving experience:
As soon as the engine is started, confidence is instilled, as the velvety-smooth power unit is neither loud nor boring. The noise when accelerating is similar to that of a throttled jet engine. The ever-present torque is breathtaking and you hardly notice which gear you are changing into. The E V12 allows rapid progress as well as enjoyable cruising - even on long journeys.
Recommendation:
The V12 Coupé is technically and visually in an extremely healthy and beautiful condition and is a showpiece with which you can be seen at any event and also in front of the opera. The care given to this example makes this veteran-approved V12 Coupé a faithful companion, which we were able to prove with a trip to Lugano in April.
