Resprayed in December 2025

A highly sought-after and very practical 2+2, equipped with a V12 engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox

Sold with an MOT passed in September 2026

The seller confirms that the mileage of 43,000 miles is accurate

This dark blue 1973 car, equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox, is one of the finest we've seen in a long time. This is largely due to its long-term owner, who has spent considerable sums perfecting the car you see in the photos. The work carried out in 2013, totalling over €16,000, included general servicing, brakes, differential, suspension, air conditioning and electrical system. In December 2025, the car underwent further work, including repainting.

The elegance of the exterior is enhanced by a beautifully preserved red leather interior. This late-series E-Type, well-equipped and substantially improved, will have appeal for enthusiasts. It is sold with a recent MOT and recent independent inspection.

First registered in 1973

Condition

Elegant chrome, including four fluted exhaust tips

Chrome-spoked wheels in good condition, but would benefit from a clean

Equipped with quality Vredestein tyres

Red leather interior in good condition, showing some minor signs of wear such as sill trim wear

Equipped with air conditioning that was overhauled in 2013 at considerable cost

This is a very carefully maintained and well-presented car, in a particularly attractive colour combination: blue on red. The history file, as summarised above and illustrated by the photos, records significant work on the bodywork, paintwork and interior, the most recent dating from December 2025.

A few minor details are noted in the photos, such as some wear to the vinyl sill trims, which could probably be easily remedied.

The Mechanics

5,343 cc V12 engine

Formerly automatic, the car was converted to a 5-speed manual gearbox, a change made over 20 years ago

Work on suspension, brakes, electrical system and differential

Invoices for work visible in the photos

The car is sold with a recent MOT

For drivers who want to enjoy the smoothness of Jaguar's remarkable V12 engine, the manual gearbox is a sensible choice that allows you to make full use of the engine's exceptional torque. It allows smooth acceleration from 20 mph in top gear.

As shown in the photos and details above, this car has received considerable mechanical attention. The seller has confirmed that the 43,000 miles shown on the clock are accurate, although this has not been verified. It is sold with the recent MOT certificate.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
