A home market car that had a massive prize winning restoration some 20 years ago & since then has mellowed & gained a patina of use. A large file of history comes with the car detailing the extensive works carried out to the car two and a half decades ago. In 2013 it won a concours prize at the Brooklands double twelve event.

The car is finished in Opaleacent blue with a black leather interior. The seats are in super condition. The exterior paitwork is good overall with a few minor use related surface scratches etc. The current owner uses it regularly during the summer months & stresses that this is a car to be used & driven rather then trailed to events.

The works done included the following:

Remove engine and gearbox, totally strip engine.

Clean all parts, inspect and hone bores. Fit new core plugs and head studs. Fit crankshaft, pistons etc. Fit new timing chains and tensioners, refit sump etc. Strip cylinder head, clean up and gas flow head and inlet manifolds. Reassemble cylinder head complete.

Strip and overhaul gearbox including reconditioning 1st and 2nd synchro hub. Supply and fit new clutch plate and thrust bearing, refit engine unit to vehicle, refit cylinder head etc.

Check over radiator and cooling system, fit new coolant hoses

Strip and check over front suspension, fit new steering rack bushes etc, realign steering remove and clean all hydraulic fluid reservoirs, fit new hoses, change brake fluid and bleed brakes throughout.

Strip clutch master and slave cylinders and overhaul, carry out complete service. Fit new steering wheel including stripping upper steering column and refitting. Re-adjust front wheel bearings, check anti-freeze and tune carbs. Road test and check.

Parts only: Dash Legend

Check handbrake, remove linkage, free up, refit and adjust. Change oil and filter, replace split air grommet. Strip out front brakes, check calipers etc, clean and refit. Remove exhaust system, repair and refit front boxes, fit new rear boxes.

Check timing and distributor advance, check mixture and change needles to suit, set idle, recheck mixture. Road test, change anti-freeze

s/fit one tube and balance

Remove dents from bonnet and boot. Paint bonnet top and o/s wing. Paint boot and both rear wings to fade. Tighten rear over-rider, secure front bar, improve fit of passenger door.

Replace header tank and top 2 hoses, fill with anti-freeze

4 x 185HR15 Vredestein tyres

Remove glove box lower panel, remove aerial from screen clean off residue. Remove steering column, attend to tight bush, make spacer for column support, refit and check operation. Fit new ignition coil, new contacts, make up and fit new HT lead, make up a low-tension lead from distributor to coil, fit secondary condenser and check throttle linkage. Dismantle linkage, balance carbs, fit auxiliary spring to rod, reset and adjust, attend to temperature switch.

Fit new headlight seals, check charging rate and order new coil and alternator. Repair alternator bracket, repaint and make new gussetts to improve brackets. Refit alternator and rectify electrical fault.

Annual service + MOT Test

Wiper fault traced to burnt out wiring and short on cigar lighter circuit, replace wiring and secure isolator switch, replace panel light bulbs

Refit rear exhaust expansion chambers, replace battery, trace flasher fault to bad connection on flasher unit, clean contacts

Annual service, MOT, temporary repair to sump

Replace sump, replace exhaust, cam cover gasket, replace n/s/f bottom joint

MOT test and relevant work, diagnose and rectify horn operation, change oil & filter

MOT test and replace battery

Service, MOT fit new steering rack, set wheel alignment and centre steering wheel

Fabricate stainless steel exhaust

Service work and MOT, fit lower ball joint, drill out steering joint bolt, re-tap and fit new bolt.

Remove cam covers and oil feed pipes to rear of engine, machine faces flat and re-size oil pipe flanges, refit pipe and covers using new gaskets and copper washers.

Supply and fit monitor

Remove old number plates and fit new "old style" number plates

Replace carpets, make hood bag, remove all stereo equipment including wires and speakers, cover holes with aluminium, replace rear with new underlay and new hard dura piece. New gear lever gaiter, make up and trim stereo blanking plate. Remove both seat backs, make a new centre for one and refit both to hide staples that were previously visible

Remove rear axle assembly, dismantle handbrake and unseize, strip to component parts and send for plating. Brake work and change suspension bushes.Refit rear axle assembly, bleed brakes and adjust handbrake. Fit new steering column bushes, service and MOT
