Sold by Yorvik Cars of Elvington in August 2026. Amended seller's description below.

1962 Jaguar E Type. A highly collectable, early production flat floor model; an attractive sports coupe that blends classic style with engaging tactile driving. With its 3.8 litre straight six and manual gearbox, it delivers expressive power with an immediate connection to the road. Well presented in red with a tidy mileage, it offers character and presence while remaining straightforward to enjoy as a historic sports car.

I purchased this E-Type from Yorvik Cars in August 2026.
In summary, a UK market RHD, matching numbers Series 1 FHC in its original colour with only 3 previous owners (all Yorkshire based, where it was first delivered and registered) and a recorded 28,500 miles.
The previous (3rd) owner acquired it in 2007 and used it very sparingly, recording only a few hundred miles over that time, albeit spending in excess of £10k over that time in maintenance & servicing.
The 2nd owner purchased it in 1978 with a recorded mileage of 26k, so with the above in mind, the current 28,500 miles is believed to be genuine. After using the car for a year or so, she then stored it for a period of time before Lynx Jaguar of Sussex to undertake a comprehensive restoration over 1989-1990, at a final cost of nearly £14,000 (equivalent to around £45k in todays money).
The car featured in a 5 page article in Popular Classics in 1991 shortly after the restoration was completed and covering the owners purchase, Lynx restoration & ownership experience.
Although the restoration was over 35 years ago, with limited mileage since, it’s still in very nice ‘driving’ condition.
