This car is photographed in a picture book by Roger Hicks (ISBN 0 86283 682 4), called "Jaguar" published by Coombe Books. My car was in the book as well. The owner at the time was Mr Cizek who lived near to me. He had restored the car and it was excellent. I lost touch with him after. The chassis number comes from the JDC E Type register directory for 1982 which I still have.

400TKR is my father's car purchased in 1975 from a scrap yard. He did a complete nut and bolt restoration and It is still owned by him now with some sympathetic modifications to make it more useable in modern road conditions and now wears JPS magnesium period alloy wheels which it had on when it came with when he brought it rather than the wire wheels when it was shown as a multi concourse winning car in the 80s and 90s.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
