We present this fully restored 1961 Jaguar E Type Roadster Series 1, featuring the coveted flat floor and welded louvre bonnet, with its original matching numbers chassis, engine, body and gearbox. As one of the earliest and most desirable examples of the E Type, this car represents a rare opportunity to own an iconic piece of automotive history. The car has undergone a concours quality restoration, preserving it's original features and ensuring it performs like new. Only the earliest E Types were built with a flat floor and welded louvre bonnets making this car a most collectable example.
This car retains its original matching numbers engine, transmission and body. The flat floor has been meticulously restored to the original design. The bodywork has been stripped to bare metal and finished in Opalescent Silver Blue using period correct paint with the welded louvres on the bonnet expertly restored to factory specification. The original engine has been rebuilt to factory specification. The matching 4 speed manual gearbox has been restored to give smooth and precise changes.
The interior has been retrimmed in dark blue with hand stitched leather seats, original style carpets and a restored dashboard. The Smiths gauges are fully operational and the original steering wheel carefully restored. All lighting. instrumentation and electrics have been overhauled or replaced. The cooling, fuel and exhaust systems have been overhauled or replaced with new components. The car comes with a Jaguar Heritage certificate confirming the matching numbers and factory build record, the full photographic and written documentation of the restoration and the restoration receipts and a comprehensive service file.
