Car was reported as being 870604, not a valid number. 876604 is best-guess based on year.

This 1962 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was repainted British Racing Green and fitted with a tan soft top and interior upholstery as part of a refurbishment completed by Reincarnation Auto of Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1998 before being acquired by the current owner in 1999 and relocated to Florida. The car is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six equipped with triple SU carburetors, while shifting is through a Moss four-speed manual transmission linked with a limited-slip differential. It rides on 15″ wire-spoke wheels coupled with power-assisted disc brakes at all four corners and also has enclosed headlights and a stainless-steel exhaust system. Inside, low-back bucket seats are accompanied by a wood-rimmed steering wheel, textured aluminum trim, and an aftermarket digital media receiver. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered on dealer consignment by Car Cave SRQ—a BaT Local Partner—with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, owner’s and service manuals, service records from current ownership, a car cover, removed parts, and a clean Florida title.
Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights as well as taillights mounted above the wraparound chrome rear bumpers. This example left the factory finished in Opalescent Silver Blue with a blue soft top and was reportedly stripped prior to undergoing a color change to British Racing Green with a tan soft top as part of the aforementioned refurbishment completed from 1998 to 2000. It is further equipped with a louvered clamshell hood, a driver-side mirror, and triple windshield wipers. The seller notes cracking in the paint on the decklid and rear quarter panels.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185-width Universal Sport redline tires. The car rides on an independent suspension, while braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The steering rack mounts were changed in 2024.
Specified from the factory with Dark Blue upholstery, the cabin features bucket seats trimmed in tan leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Textured aluminum inserts accents the center stack and console, while the dash is wrapped in black vinyl. An aftermarket digital media receiver is installed ahead of the shifter, while further appointments include a heater, a sliding rearview mirror, and lap belts. The selling dealer notes wear on the driver’s seat bolsters.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 64k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.8-liter inline-six featured triple SU carburetors from the factory and was rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. A rebuilt starter was installed in 2019, the battery was changed in 2025, and the oil-pressure sensor was replaced in 2026.
The cylinder head and block stampings read R3700-9, which matches the sequence listed on the Production Record Trace Certificate from the Jaguar Heritage Trust.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Moss four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A stainless-steel exhaust system was installed in 2011.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate shows the factory colors and drivetrain numbers as well as a build date of January 22, 1962.
