This 1963 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster is said by the seller to be in excellent restored condition. He states the ’63 XK-E was totally disassembled in 2009 for a complete restoration. The work included refurbishment of the drivetrain, suspension system, steering, brakes, paint, interior, wiring harness, and soft top. The hard top, which was purchased new with the car, was also repainted and fitted with a new headliner and seals.
A private restorer, working in concert with Classic Jaguar in Austin, Texas, is said to have performed the restoration, retaining as many of the roadster’s original parts as possible along the way. The seller states the Jaguar has no body rust or damage, and confirms the Jaguar has all its original body panels. Declaring the roadster to have traveled less than 9,000 miles since the restoration, he asserts the engine block, head, transmission, and frame each have their original factory stampings, which match the Jaguar’s data plate as well as its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate.
He further affirms the body tag in the trunk is original to the car and also matches the Heritage Certificate. Additionally, he says the data plate is also original to the car, as well as the J63 plate installed in California when car was new. He also states the E-type Jaguar runs, drives, and stops excellently and has been reliable. The original Moss gearbox is said to shift nicely, and the engine is asserted to pull strongly.
