This E Type Series 1 3.8 Cabriolet is a fine example built in September 1963 and first registered in 1964. Originally from the United States before arriving in France, it is now on its fifth French owner and comes with an extensive history file. The car comes with its Jaguar Heritage certificate, which confirms its original chassis number, build date of 5 September1963 and its original factory specification; it was originally finished in Opalescent Dark Green with a Suede Green interior and Black roof.

A full restoration was carried out in 2000 and this is documented with a substantial file of invoices and photos tracing the stages of the work, including a major overhaul of the mechanics, running gear and interior. The car was finished in Dark Blue with Cream leather interior and a Dark Blue hood. The inspection report dated 2017 confirms the full restoration and highlights the good condition of the bodywork, interior and mechanics.

In 2017 further works were carried out with the cylinder head skimmed and the head gasket and hoses replaced. Later works include replacement of the alternator and fan, replacement of the steering rack gaiters and crankshaft damper pulley, front nearside hub and fitting new tyres. This car pairs the 3.8 litre straight six with the four speed Moss gearbox to offer an authentic driving experience. This is an appealing example where the history and works are extensively documented.
