This 1964 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that has been in the seller’s family since 1978. The car underwent a cosmetic refurbishment in 2001 and a mechanical rebuild in 2013. Work included rebuilding the 3.8-liter inline-six and installing a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in British Racing Green over a beige leather interior and is equipped with a tan soft top, 15″ wire wheels, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, and a PerTronix electronic ignition. This long-term family-owned XKE shows 61k miles and is now offered at no reserve with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, service records, spare parts, and a Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name that lists the car as a 1965 model.

The car is finished in British Racing Green. A cosmetic refurbishment was performed by British Restorations of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2001, which included rust remediation and a repaint. The car is equipped with a tan soft top, enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, and wraparound chrome bumpers. Known flaws include paint bubbles on the hood vents, worn headlight chrome, a gap between the convertible top and the driver’s window, and various chips and blemishes in the paint.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 225/60 Kumho tires showing 2012 date codes. The power-assisted four-wheel disc brake system is filled with silicone fluid and is equipped with rear brake bleeder extensions. The independent rear suspension was rebuilt in 2013. A set of factory-sized Dayton wire wheels is included in the sale.

The cabin was refurbished in 2001 with an interior kit from OSJI of Muncie, Indiana, and features bucket seats upholstered in beige leather with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. A rebuilt aux-input-equipped Blaupunkt AM/FM radio and lap belts are fitted. Known issues include an inoperative trip odometer and clock, turn signals that do not self-cancel, deteriorated defrost hoses, and a squeaky steering column bushing.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 61k miles. The seller notes that the speedometer reads low compared to a GPS. Total mileage is unknown.

The 3.8-liter XK inline-six was rebuilt by Terry Lippincott of Sinking Springs, Pennsylvania, in 2013. Modifications include:

Negative-ground electrical system with a high-output alternator

PerTronix electronic ignition

High-efficiency gear-reduction starter

Aluminum radiator with an electric fan

Solid-state fuel pump

The cylinder head stamp reads RA6792-9, which matches the number on the chassis plate and Heritage certificate.

A fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission was sourced from a 4.2-liter XKE and installed in 2013. The differential was also rebuilt at that time. The removed factory transmission is included in the sale.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the original colors and drivetrain numbers.

The title carries an Antique Vehicle brand.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
