This Jaguar E-Type Lightweight re-creation was constructed between 2016 and 2022 by Classic Performance Restorations in Arizona with aluminum bodywork fabricated by Tin Element in Colorado in the style of the Lightweight Low-Drag coupe campaigned at Le Mans and Nürburgring in 1964. Finished in blue, the car is based on the underpinnings of a 1962 E-Type coupe and is powered by a 3.8-liter XK inline-six that features a wide-angle cylinder head, dry-sump lubrication, and a Lucas fuel injection system with individual throttle bodies converted to operate with MoTeC electronic control. Additional features include an aluminum firewall and floors, a Tremec five-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, heim-jointed independent suspension with custom Penske adjustable shock absorbers, disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear units, 15” magnesium-alloy peg-drive wheels, a stainless-steel exhaust system, an STL fuel cell, a TIG-welded roll cage, Lexan windows with power-operated door segments, tan leather interior upholstery over fixed-back bucket seats, six-point harnesses, air conditioning, and a fire suppression system. After its completion, the car participated in the 2022 Copper State 1000 and was purchased by the selling dealer approximately one month ago. This E-Type Lightweight Low-Drag re-creation is now offered in North Salem, New York, with invoices and photos from its construction and an Arizona title.
The re-creation’s hand-formed and riveted aluminum monocoque and bodywork were fabricated by Tin Element in Broomfield, Colorado, between 2017 and 2020 and is finished in blue. Design elements include a fastback profile with visible rivets along the roofline and flanks, faired-in headlights and fog lamps, leather hood retention straps, Lexan windows custom-made by a California aircraft company, power-operated panels integrated into the door windows, sail-panel vents, a through-trunk Monza-style fuel filler cap, and central dual exhaust outlets.
Peg-drive magnesium-alloy wheels are secured by three-eared knock-offs and are wrapped in Avon tires measuring 225/65R15 up front and 245/60R15 at the rear. Stopping is handled by disc brakes with ventilated front rotors, inboard-mounted rear assemblies, and dual master cylinders. A brake fluid service was performed in May 2026.
The cockpit houses a pair of aluminum fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in tan Garrett leather with perforations over the seatbacks. Matching leather covers the door panels, sills, and rear bulkhead, while color-matched carpeting covers the floors, center tunnel, and rear shelf. Additional features include a TIG-welded roll cage, Willans six-point harnesses, a fire suppression system, a hand-held fire extinguisher, a Bose Bluetooth speaker, and air conditioning with a custom aluminum vent panel.
The OMP Superleggera steering wheel with a quick-disconnect hub sits on a tilting and telescoping column ahead of Freedom CAN-Bus instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer. The digital odometer shows 2k miles since the build, approximately 200 of which have been added under current ownership. Freedom CAN-Bus gauges housed above toggle switchgear in a dotted aluminum bezel to the driver’s right monitor coolant temperature, oil pressure, oil temperature, and voltage.
The 3.8-liter XK inline-six is said to incorporate a wide-angle cylinder head with competition camshafts along with dry-sump lubrication, custom three-into-one exhaust headers, an ACDelco alternator, and a Ron Davis custom aluminum radiator. The custom fuel injection system includes Lucas individual throttle bodies with MoTeC drive-by-wire electronic management, a CAN-Bus fuseless electric system, and a KSV Looms custom wiring loom. A 2020 dynamometer sheet viewable in the photo gallery below shows peak outputs of 319.1 horsepower and 298.8 lb-ft of torque. The engine is tuned to run on 91-93 octane gasoline, and an STL fuel cell with surge tanks is said to accommodate 22 gallons. An oil change was performed in May 2026.
Power is sent to the rear wheels by a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential that is said to be geared for road use. Four-wheel independent suspension incorporates heim-jointed linkage, custom Penske adjustable shock absorbers, and custom Delrin bushings.
Images from the car’s construction can be viewed in the gallery are included.
The car is titled in Arizona under number 67T4833888625, the last six digits of which are stamped on the car.
