It has been repainted once many, many years ago and the colour is correct, golden sand.

The paint under the bonnet (engine compartments) is all original.

The interior (seats) is a bit dry, all matching numbers. It runs and drives but has a bit weak brakes. The brakes needs to be gone through but I can arrange to have that done in San Jose, California before it leaves. It will be an extra cost for about $500

The car will be cleaned etc. before it leaves.

Some service records. 2 owners and the mileage is correct (11 K original mls).

This Jag is nice and original underneath. All original panels, no patches, just factory sheet metal. The floor is totally solid. The body is excellent overall. If you are looking for a good solid Series 1 XKE coupe, this is your car.

Underneath is exceptionally clean, never having being in an accident, the car's panels are fit perfect like it did when it left the factory.
I have tried to describe the condition of this car as accurately as I can, there is no doubt that this is a fabulous opportunity for the right person and a reluctant sale on my part.
My Payment Terms are: Payment in full within 7 days from date of purchase (close of auction) by bank wire transfer into my bank account. Inspections are by appointment and welcome
If I cannot get what I want for this car, I will keep it and finish the restoration myself!

First Jaguar E-type in Golden Sand

    California garage find, faithfully restored

    History:

This is the very first series with the aluminum dashboard.

This Jaguar E-type was imported by the American Jaguar dealer on December 1, 1962, and first registered in California on July 1, 1963.

This is documented by the black California license plates, which are still present and which I have attractively framed with the original steering wheel against a "Golden Sand" background.

According to the available Jaguar Heritage appraisal, this is the first example produced in the particularly beautiful "Opalescent Golden Sand" color.

In 2006, the car was discovered in the garage of a private owner in California, where it had been unregistered for over 20 years (original title available). It was in rust-free, original condition with matching numbers.

... The company Laro Sportwagen, specializing in high-end sports cars, brought the vehicle to Germany on my behalf and had it professionally restored over an extended period by specialists, sparing no expense, using many new parts, including:

    - Original paint finish

    - Completely new interior (leather seats, carpets, headliner, etc.)

    - Installation of a high-performance radiator with fan

    - Transmission replaced with a longer gear ratio for enhanced driving pleasure

    - Engine tested and tuned

    - Refurbishment or replacement of all chrome parts

    - New gaskets

    - New tires

    - New brakes

    - New electrical system for lights

    - New steering wheel

    - New stainless steel exhaust system for improved sound

    - Becker retro sound system with CD changer and navigation

This vehicle has been in my possession for 18 years and is part of my collection.

A new TÜV/AU inspection and H-registration will be carried out upon purchase.

The Jaguar E-type is in excellent technical and visual condition, suitable for everyday use, and is ready to be sold to an appreciative owner.
