*This E-Type is for sale as a Classic Showcase restoration, equal to that of our Show-Driver / Show restoration levels. Please contact us for more information...
This 1964 Jaguar XKE Coupe is a very original, numbers-matching California car. The E-Type in fact features a “J/64” stamped tag next to the data plate, which was assigned from the California DMV in 1964 – a unique and original feature that is exclusive to original registered cars in the 1960s in California! The car will include all parts that are currently off of the car.
Included in the restoration process: the vehicle will be stripped to bare metal, placed on a rotisserie, metal finished, leaded, with all body parts fitted to the car and chrome, prepared for primer, sealer, paint, base, clear, color sanded and buffed to a fabulous finish. The car will not be painted for some time, so we can paint it the color of your choice. All systems will be gone through, and the engine will be rebuilt back to factory specifications. The fuel, electrical, cooling, and hydraulic systems will be restored as well. All other components will be rebuilt back to factory specifications, including the engine, transmission, rear end and suspension. All chrome will be re-plated as needed. The car will receive a complete new custom tailored and fit interior in the correct materials by our upholstery department. An mp4 pictorial video file of the restoration process will accompany the vehicle.

This 1964 Jaguar XKE Fixed Head Coupe is a very original, numbers-matching California car that proved to be an ideal candidate for a no-expense-spared, show-level restoration. Notably, the E-Type retains its rare “J/64” stamped tag next to the data plate—an original California DMV designation from 1964, found only on cars first registered in the state during that era. This is a seldom-seen detail that adds an extra layer of provenance and authenticity. Finished in its original color combination of Opalescent Silver Grey and Red as documented by its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, the Coupe went through a show level restoration to our highest standards, and now stands as one of the formidable newly restored Series I E-Types currently offered today - both cosmetically and mechanically.
The restoration process was comprehensive and methodical, with every component evaluated, restored, or replaced with exacting attention to detail. The body was completely disassembled, metal-finished, and leaded as needed to achieve correct panel fit and contours. All chrome and body components were hand-fitted to ensure proper alignment prior to being primed, sealed, and finished in base and clear coats, then color sanded and buffed to a mirror-like finish. The undercarriage, engine frames, and suspension components were refinished to factory-correct specs.
Mechanically, the engine, gearbox, and driveline were completely rebuilt by our team, and all systems—including the clutch, brakes, cooling, electrical, and hydraulics were fully restored with concours-level accuracy. All rubber components, grommets, bushings, and seals were replaced throughout, and we used genuine NOS parts to maintain authenticity and integrity wherever possible. The wiring harness was replaced with a correct cloth-bound unit, and fasteners were either re-plated or replaced with proper cadmium- or zinc-coated hardware.
Inside, the Coupe’s original interior was painstakingly restored by our Master Trimmer using the correct materials, patterns, and textures, including all new leather, carpets, and panels and present wonderfully. The dash instruments and switches have also been professionally restored, and the steering wheel, brightwork, and finishing details reflect the level of commitment taken throughout!
This exceptional E-Type is now ready for the Show Field or Concours, private collection, or as a valuable addition to your investment portfolio. An MP4 pictorial video documenting the restoration accompanies the car, offering collectors and enthusiasts an inside look at the level of craftsmanship invested into the restoration and build of this Blue Chip Jaguar.
