I have had Jaguar double check the archives and they confirm that GB5019JS was the original gearbox. I now have a heritage certificate from them documenting this.
Do I have the only e type that came from the factory with a GB prefix moss box? Everthing I have found shows the prefix was EB and my cars build date 5/20/64 sequence numbers of the gearbox apper to be in the high 14000 range. The GB prefix was used on saloons without overdrive but normally had a long tailshaft and housing. GBD was apparently the D type prefix. I am interested in any constructive comments or feedback. Does anyone happen to have GB5019JS lying around or in another car? Thanks Don
