1964 original USA-spec E-Type coupe. The last year of the desirable 3.8 engine with matching engine & cylinder head numbers. 71K actual miles (!), subject of lengthy restoration work over many years by former owner with professional paint & interior work. We have the Heritage Certificate showing the matching numbers; it also shows the car was originally white, but was changed to red when completely disassembled.

During the years-long restoration the engine was overhauled (receipts available), the body stripped & professionally painted and many OEM parts obtained when they were still available. The chrome and glass (factory ‘Sundym' tinted all around!) is all excellent and panel fit is probably better than when these cars were new. Considerable effort went into creating an exceptional high-level ‘driver’ car instead of a show princess. Example: A lot of Dynamat sound & heat insulating material was installed in hidden places. New electrical harnesses were obtained and new correct Dunlop wheels & tires, oversize radiator w/electric fan were further upgrades.

All instruments were rebuilt (even the clock works!) and a beautiful new leather interior installed, including a new wool headliner. Car runs & drives great, but while it sparkles from ten feet, paint has some age cracking. We have buffed it up very nicely and it really does present well—as intended, it’s a really nice driver you can enjoy without anxiety Attractively priced due to the paint issue at $82,500.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
