Recently purchased from the previous owner of 25 years. Recent bare metal re-spray, new michelins, new chrome wire wheels, good interior that will be freshened. Some small items need minor attention, complete the removal of inop a/c system, repair side marker lights, replace windshield - cracked down the middle and replace the convertible top.

For sale at Barbary Hill of Lincoln for £99,950. Seller's description below.
www.barbaryhill.com/cars/willow-green-s2/

This particular vehicle was ordered from British Leyland Motors in New York. Built in the Jaguar factory in Browns Lane, Coventry on 16th September 1970, the car left the factory on its long maiden voyage for New York. We are unable to identify the original owner, but we know from the in depth history file that the car was owned by Mr Clark Everette Comer from 22nd February 1973. The Heritage Certificate indicates that the car left the factory with Willow Green exterior and black interior.

We believe this information is incorrect as we have established through previous custodians dating back to the 1970's that they all knew the car having a cinnamon interior as indicated in the original notes on the certificate. We have concluded the car was dispatched either with the wrong interior which was rectified at an early stage or that the factory recorded the production incorrectly.

Car to be at auction 8/26

The Classic Sale at CarFest 2026 - Saturday

Lot Number: 575

1970 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 Roadster

Registration Number WWT 616J

Chassis Number P2R14751

Transmission manual

Body Colour Willow Green

This attractive, manual gearbox, Series 2 (P2R14751) was built for the US market in left-hand drive, finished in Willow Green with a Cinnamon interior and Tan hood and dispatched to New York on 26/10/1970

It appears to have spent much of its life in North Carolina before being imported and registered in the UK in 2019

During its time in the United States, the car benefited from a bare-metal restoration in its original colours, with the work undertaken prior to its return to the UK

It's accompanied by its UK V5C registration document, together with a selection of invoices

A delightfully presented example of Jaguar's legendary E-Type, combining the desirable 4.2-litre straight-six engine, manual transmission, Series 2 usability and left-hand-drive configuration, with an interesting US history and the benefit of an extensive previous restoration

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
