This 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster was acquired by the seller from an estate in 2023 and subsequently underwent a repaint in British Racing Green, an interior re-trim in tan leather, and mechanical service as part of a refurbishment completed over the ensuing three years. The car is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 fitted with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, while shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission linked with a limited-slip differential. It also has power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15” knock-off wire wheels along with a tan soft top, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a push-button Blaupunkt radio. This Series III E-Type is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, recent service records, and transferable New York State registration in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in British Racing Green and was reportedly stripped and repainted as part of the aforementioned refurbishment completed from 2024 to 2026. The exterior brightwork was refinished and the headlight trim was replaced as part of the project. The tan soft top is paired with a matching top boot, and further details include a forward-hinged louvered hood, uncovered headlights, quad exhaust outlets, and wraparound bumpers with guards.
The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and mounted with Firestone Champion tires measuring 205/70. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The bucket seats were re-trimmed in tan leather and color-coordinated replacement carpets were added as part of the refurbishment completed between 2024 and 2026. Interior amenities include a push-button Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, a sliding rearview mirror, and a heater.
The split-spoke steering wheel features a wood rim and fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as a centrally mounted analog clock along and auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 32k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 314 horsepower and 349 lb-ft of torque when new. Work from 2024 to 2026 involved rebuilding the carburetors, powder-coating the airboxes, replacing the fuel pump, changing the battery, and performing wiring repairs. The seller notes rust under the battery tray and recommends replacing the valve stem seals.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The shifter was repaired as part of the work completed from 2024 to 2026.
A composite image showing various identification markings is presented above. The chassis plate lists car number UC1S20462, while the door jam sticker omits the UC (US-market, 1972 model year) prefix.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate for chassis UC1S20462 lists factory identification numbers and colors along with an April 1972 manufacture date.
The vehicle is being sold on its New York State registration, which serves as an ownership document in New York. The document lists the VIN as 1S20462 and expired in April 2026.
