This 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 V12 is a non-running project that is finished in primer over burgundy leather. The car is equipped with a 5.3-liter V12, a three-speed automatic transmission, a limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes, a power steering system, 15″ Campagnolo alloy wheels, quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The car was acquired by the seller in 2022 and is now offered with photos showing the progress completed thus far in addition to removed components, spare parts, and a transferable New York registration.

The car was finished in black before it was stripped to bare metal and coated in primer under current ownership. The headlights, taillights, bumpers, glass, and exterior trim have been removed and are included in the sale. Some rust holes are visible on the rear hatch inner structure, and corrosion is present on the inner doors and various underbody components. The seller notes that rust repair work was performed several years ago and is including some spare metal panels in the sale.

The 15″ Campagnolo alloy wheels are mounted with 215/70 Avon TurboSpeed tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering and four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The 2+2 cabin is equipped with front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in burgundy leather, along with color-coordinated door panels and center console trim. Interior amenities include air conditioning and a locking glovebox. Uninstalled red floor mats and center tunnel coverings are included in the sale.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, though total mileage is unknown.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 314 horsepower and 349 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine does not run, and the seller suspects an issue with one of the left-bank valves. The carburetors, intake manifolds, and various engine components have been removed and are included in the sale. The drivetrain features a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.

Metalwork was performed on the floor pans and undercarriage in 2023.

Parts accompanying the car include an E-Series grille from a different era.
