This 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 fitted with six Weber carburetors and linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in Silver Gray over black leather, and features include four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a CD stereo, and air conditioning. This Series III E-Type was acquired by the current owner in 2025 and is now offered on dealer consignment with the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, and an Arkansas title.
The car is finished in Silver Gray and features uncovered headlights, fog lights, US-spec bumpers, and a forward-hinged louvered hood. The selling dealer tells us that the hood has been repainted.
The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/65 Contnental Extreme Contact tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench seat upholstered in black leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include a CD stereo, a locking glovebox, and air conditioning.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 48k miles, a few hundred of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was fitted with performance camshafts and overhauled in 2012, including replacement of the piston rings, rod bearings, timing chain, and valves. Six Weber carburetors and an aftermarket exhaust have also been installed. The seller notes that the carburetors could use tuning.
Engine block stamping 7S7677SA is shown above, and a corresponding number is listed on the chassis plate viewable in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The Arkansas title lists “Duplicate Title” and “OD Exempt” under the Remarks section.
