This 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster was acquired new by its first owner through Foreign Imports of Arlington, Virginia, in March 1974 before being sold in June of that year. Chassis UD1S22883 was later relocated to California, where it is believed to have remained in storage from 1977 until its removal and sale to the selling dealer in 2025. Finished in Azure Blue with a black soft top over Cinnamon leather, the car retains a non-running 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It rolls on 15” knock-off wire wheels coupled with four-wheel disc brakes and also has a forward-hinged louvered hood, uncovered headlights, and quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. This Series III E-Type shows 13k miles and is now offered by the selling dealer in Houston, Texas, with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, manufacturer’s literature, service records, accessories, and a clean California title.

The car left the factory finished in Azure Blue, and photos of it as discovered in 2025 are presented at the end of the gallery. The roadster wears a black soft top and has a forward-hinged louvered hood, uncovered headlights, door-mounted side mirrors, and US-spec bumpers. The selling dealer believes that the car has not been repainted, and a video and photos showing paint meter readings are provided below.

The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with 185-width Michelin XVS-P tires that have 2023 date codes. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering as well as four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in Cinnamon leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include a sliding rear-view mirror, a locking glovebox, and hand-crank windows. The car retains an AM/FM radio as well as air conditioning equipment, though neither has been tested by the selling dealer.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock and auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 13k miles, none of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 net horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. The selling dealer notes that they have not attempted to start the car and reports that the engine turns freely.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A January 1975 record from the original selling dealer notes that the gearbox was overhauled due to it jumping out of third gear.

A composite image of various identification markings around the car is shown above, and the engine stamping and chassis number correspond to the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as a May 1973 date of manufacture.

A collection of literature, records, and accessories is also included in the sale.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
