Car has a buy it now price of $34,500 for 4 days, seller chicagocarclub, 23k miles
Seller's description:
This 1974 Jaguar XKE 2+2 is a partially completed high-end restomod project featuring a fuel-injected V12 believed to be sourced from a 1990s Jaguar donor. The previous owner invested heavily into mechanicals, suspension, brakes, and interior before passing away mid-project, leaving the finishing touches to the next owner. The car runs, drives, and shifts nicely, and is extremely close to becoming a standout sleeper-spec V12 E-Type with modern drivability and classic Series III charm.
Exterior
The body is very dry, straight, and solid an excellent foundation for final paint and finishing. All glass is present, with the rear glass removed for paint prep. The exterior needs paint completed; the owner began the process but did not finish it. Panel fitment is good throughout and overall the car presents as a clean, honest project with strong structure.
Interior
The interior was already refurbished and looks excellent. Seats, carpet, headliner, and trim appear fresh, with only a few small details left, mainly door-panel hardware and minor finishing tasks. Dash and controls are intact. A temporary starter button is currently installed because the key switch wasn't engaging, but the system functions fine.
Underhood & Underbody
The fuel-injected V12 starts smoothly and sounds fantastic. Underneath, the car shines with a tremendous amount of new and restored components: Wilwood brakes front and rear, fresh rotors, new bushings, control arms, linkages, and extensive detailed paintwork. The underside clearly reflects a major investment. Extra parts are included, though some small hardware items will need sourcing for final completion.
Driving
The car runs on its own fuel system, starts easily, and drives and shifts nicely. Throttle response is crisp and the drivetrain performs smoothly. As is typical with a project in the final stages, some dialing-in is still needed, the new calipers and rotors are a little sticky, likely from sitting post-installation. A simple clean-up/adjustment should resolve it. Overall, it already moves under its own power confidently and shows the potential to become an exceptional driver once fully sorted.
