    Auction description:

The Iconic Sale at Race Retro 2026 - Collectors' Cars

Powered by Jaguar’s legendary 5.3-litre V12 engine, producing 272bhp and capable of 0–60mph in under seven seconds with a top speed of around 140mph, the Series 3 E-Type Roadster represents the most refined and muscular evolution of this iconic model. Effortless performance is paired with turbine-smooth delivery, making the V12 E-Type a grand tourer of genuine stature.

Finished in Old English White and complemented by a striking red leather interior, this matching-numbers example is equipped with an automatic transmission, perfectly suiting the relaxed yet powerful character of the Series 3. Originally left-hand drive, the car has since been professionally converted to right-hand drive and, around five years ago, was treated to a repaint in its original colour along with a comprehensive interior retrim.

A number of sympathetic enhancements have been made to improve usability and driving enjoyment, including electronic ignition and uprated power steering. The interior benefits from new seats, door cards and carpets, all contributing to a smart and inviting cabin. Notably, expenditure totalling approximately £23,000 is documented, including £8,250 for a full retrim carried out by the respected trimmer Cliff Griffiths, with the remaining work undertaken by Castec Motors of Wolverhampton.

Offered at a very competitive estimate when you consider what's actually on offer and accompanied by its history file and V5C, this Series 3 V12 Roadster is a charming example of the rare late-model open E-Type, combining smooth, authoritative performance with one of the most instantly recognisable silhouettes in motoring history.

    70,936 Miles (Indicated)RHDautomatic

    Camberley, United Kingdom

    Engine Size 5.3L V12

    VIN UE1S23346BW

    ExteriorWhite

    Interior Hotspur Red

    Fuel type petrol

    Registration AUR 616M

A US-market example, this E-Type was imported into the UK in November 2019, and has recently been acquired by its current owner.

The seller notes that the car was converted to right-hand drive in around 2020 as part of an extensive rebuild and repaint, and has since benefitted from more than £23,000 of documented maintenance and improvement works between 2020 and 2026.

The odometer indicates 70,936 miles, though this is not warranted.

    Equipment and features

This E-Type Series 3 is finished in a timeless shade of white with a contrasting black soft-top roof, over a Hotspur Red leather-trimmed interior, featuring a contrasting black dashboard, Heritage Red carpet, and chrome trim highlights.

It rides on a set of 15-inch chrome cross-spoke wire wheels with two-spoke knock-offs, fitted with Radar Dimax Classic tyres.

Equipment includes a black leather-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel, Smiths gauges, a Kienzle analogue clock, dashboard rocker switches, a Motorola push-button radio, and heater and ventilation controls.

The car has benefitted from an electronic ignition system and an upgraded power steering rack.

The car will be supplied with its V5C, photos of the repaint, a Jaguar Heritage Trust production record certificate, and a collection of service invoices covering maintenance carried out in 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2026, totalling more than £23,000.

    One ignition key is included.

    Condition

Specific notes from the seller include: the car underwent a right-hand-drive conversion, extensive rebuild and repaint in around 2020. There are now only minor exterior blemishes. Inside, the cabin has been fully retrimmed.

    Service history

This E-Type’s most recent recorded maintenance was completed in February 2026 at around an indicated 69,000 miles by Hypermotive, which consisted of an engine oil and filter change, a new air filter, replacement spark plugs, the gearbox and axle fluids being topped up, a new starter relay, and a replacement nearside front upper poly bush suspension kit with ball joint.

Technicians at Cliff Griffiths retrimmed the full interior in February 2022.

Since 2020, the car has benefitted from the fitment of an electronic ignition system, an upgraded power steering rack, new brake discs, callipers and brake pipes, a new fuel pump, a suspension overhaul, new valve guide oil seals, a new fuel tank, and a new starter motor.
