1974 JAGUAR XKE CHASSIS# UE1523439BW BODY# 4S5946 ENGINE# 7S14089LA GEARBOX#11740 Last year for the V-12 Roadster E-Type. Finished in Silver Metallic with Red leather interior. Overall condition of this 28,038 original mile car is excellent-paint is new and flawless, the chrome is superb. The interior Connolly leather is new. It runs and drives excellently. The automatic transmission makes driving a breeze. It has all new hoses and the AC works. It runs cool even in Florida traffic. It even still has the original Lucas seal beam headlights, working British Leyland radio, working clock, the original sales literature that came with the car, owner’s handbook, tools, and boot cover. It has just been serviced and it has new tires. The original spare tire has never been used. There is some interesting history on this car, the 2nd owner of this vehicle was one of the 54 hostages during the Iran hostage crisis in 1979. Later, he worked for the American Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand and he had the car shipped there. The Thai license plate is included as well as some old invoices for work done while he was in Bangkok.

This 1974 Jaguar E-Type V12 is a Series III roadster that is said to have undergone a refurbishment in California under previous ownership that involved refinishing the exterior in silver and retrimming the interior in red leather. The car is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is equipped with a black soft top, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning, three-point seatbelts, and a Pioneer CD stereo. It was acquired by the current owner in 2021, and recent service reportedly included flushing the coolant and replacing the fuel lines. This E-Type is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with manufacturer’s literature and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The car is finished in silver and was reportedly repainted following bodywork under previous ownership. Exterior details include a black soft top, chrome bumpers, rubber bumper overriders, a left-side mirror, V12 badging, and dual exhaust outlets. The lower front valance is bent.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels wear 205/70 Multi-Mile PR812 tires, and a jack is stored in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering as well as four-wheel disc brakes with inboard rear rotors.
An interior refresh was performed during the refurbishment, and the bucket seats are trimmed in red leather. Amenities include Jaguar-branded floor mats, three-point seatbelts, rear storage compartments, air conditioning, and a Pioneer CD stereo.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and center-mounted auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 31k miles, approximately 250 of which were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The 5.3-liter V12 features four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and polished rain shields. The seller states that the coolant was flushed and the fuel lines were replaced in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion is present on underside components.
Manufacturer’s literature is included in the sale.
The car is titled in the state of California, but the registration expired in December 2022.

This 1974 Jaguar E-Type is a Series III roadster that is noted to have undergone a repaint in silver and an interior re-trim in red leather as part of a refurbishment completed under previous ownership in California. Chassis UE1S23439 was acquired by the seller on BaT in May 2023 and was subsequently fitted with an upgraded radiator as well as a replacement thermostat and transmission cooler. The car is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, while shifting is through a three-speed automatic transmission linked with a limited-slip differential. Further details include power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15” knock-off wire wheels along with a Pioneer CD stereo, air conditioning, and a black soft top. This Series III E-Type is now offered with a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.
The car is believed to have undergone bodywork and a repaint in silver under previous ownership. It features a black soft top, a forward-hinged louvered hood, a driver-side mirror, uncovered headlights, wraparound chrome bumpers, rubber bumper overriders, and dual central exhaust outlets. The lower front valance is bent, and the seller notes a paint chip on the hood as well as other imperfections around the body.
The refreshed cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in red leather along with color-coordinated carpets and door-panel upholstery. A Pioneer CD stereo has been added, and further amenities include air conditioning, a sliding rear-view mirror, three-point seatbelts, and rear storage compartments. The horn was replaced under current ownership.
The five-digit odometer shows 31k miles, approximately 150 of which were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
Work under current ownership in May 2024 is noted to have involved installing an upgraded radiator and replacing the thermostat.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The transmission cooler was replaced in May 2024, according to the seller. Rust is visible on various underside components.
