This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster is said to have been acquired by the second owner in 1984 and purchased several years ago by the selling dealer. The car is finished in Signal Red with a black soft top over red leather and powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It rides on 15” knock-off wire wheels and also has power steering, air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio. Work in preparation for the sale involved rebuilding the quad Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, installing an ignition kit, replacing the fuel tank, and servicing the brakes. This Series III E-Type is now offered in 19406 by the selling dealer with an owner’s manual, recent service records, and a Pennsylvania title.
The car is finished in Signal Red with a black soft top paired with a color-coordinated top boot. Further details include a forward-hinged louvered hood, uncovered headlights, and US-spec bumpers.
The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with Dunlop Elite Seventy tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The brake master cylinder, booster, servo, and other hydraulic components were replaced in 2026.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in red as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include an AM/FM radio, air conditioning, a sliding rear-view mirror, and a locking glovebox.
The drilled-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quad Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 net horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. Work in 2026 involved rebuilding the carburetors, installing an ignition kit, replacing the fuel tank, and adjusting the timing.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The clutch hydraulic cylinders were replaced in 2026.
The curent Pennsylvania title carries “Classic Vehicle” and “Out of State Vehicle” notations.
