Ebay item 4/28/08
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-E-TYPE-1968-E-TYPE-Rare-sportster-w-30 ...
Current bid $25,500 reserve not met, 9 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1968 Series I ½ E-type Jaguar. These cars retained the beauty and sleekness of the Series I cars with only a handful of changes from the 1961-1967 E-Types. Only 771 of this model were produced. Since these cars retained all the body panels and bumpers of the series I, it continues to showcase the timeless beauty of the original design. This combined with the Series II upgrades makes these cars far more desirable that the Series II. Serious collectors will recognize that these cars are visually identical to the Series I E-types and are only lacking the glass over the headlamps. This car was restored about 6 years ago.

I bought this car from the widow of the man that completely "frame off" restored this car from the ground up. The engine was completely professionally rebuilt using genuine Jaguar parts. It purrs like a kitten with the power of a lion.

That restoration was completed only 3000 miles ago. Everything was redone on this car including the wiring harness. The radio and the horn dont seem to work but I have not messed with them to find out the problem. I think everything else works. The paint is great but I did notice a couple tiny 1/4-1/2 inch flaws. This is not a perfect showcar. But it is damn near perfect and an awesome cruising car.

I have an appraisel from 5 years ago that put the value of this car at $37,500.00

Current bid $20,500 reserve not met 3 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Sellers description:
1968 Series 1 1/2 Convertible. I will not bore you with the collectability of this car as you well know already. The car went through a frame off restoration from the prior owner. The engine was professionally rebuilt using Jaquar parts complete. It runs flawlessely. The restoration was completed about 5000 miles ago. Also had the complete wiring harness replaced. He had owned the car 22 years and that is how far back I know the history. All mechanicals have been checked out by a local specialist (Stonefield Vintage Garage) and was given anything that required attention. New red line wheels and spinners where added a few thousand miles ago and are perfect. The paint is darn near perfect however this is a driver and not a trailer queen. This car needs to be driven to be appreciated and gawked at. I have owned this car for a few years however my asperations are for a 1962 which I owed back in the days, thus the sale. The car has been showed and won tropheys and was also on the cover of our local Jaquar club magazine. I have the certificate of build from Jaquar Daimler Heritage Trust that shows this car to be 1 of 771 produced. This is about as fun as gets.
